NEW  November 5 - ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Carleton Place Soccer Club will hold its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, November 27 at 8:00 p.m. in the meeting room at the Carleton Place Arena. All CPSC members are encouraged to attend.

NEW  October 8 - Fundraising Event

Campbell Melvin, a hard-working community soccer volunteer, died while playing soccer at Appleton Field on June 13. Campbell was a coach, a player, a referee, a former Board member, and a "builder" of the Club. He left his wife MaryAnne and four sons -- James, Graerme, Robert and Duncan -- all of whom are/were CPSC players. Following Campbell's death, a scholarship fund was established by the Carleton Place Soccer Club to assist Campbell's sons in paying for their post-secondary education.

The Carleton Place Soccer Club, and other friends of the Melvin family, have joined forces to put on a benefit dance to contribute to the Melvin Family Fund. The purpose of the Melvin Family Fund is to assist with the financial challenges of raising a family.

The benefit dance will be held at the Carleton Place Arena, upper hall, on Saturday, November 8th, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. The dance will feature a live band, comedian, and master of ceremonies. There will also be a silent auction, as well as a cash bar and snacks. The organizing committee hopes that you will be able to attend the benefit dance. Tickets are $15 per person in advance, and $20 at the door.

For more information, please contact Brian Read, (613) 256-4055.
